Tour at 17:00

Report from Eldey: We headed out in the bay on a chilly afternoon, with pretty good sea conditions that made the spotting quite easy. We sailed through the bay for 40 minutes until, pretty far away, we managed to spot the first and only cetacean of the tour. It was a minke whale and unfortunately we were able to see the animal only for 3 times before it totally disappeared from the area. After that and although all our efforts we weren't able to spot anything again so we sadly came back to the harbour almost empty handed. This is wildlife, and sometimes we can get this elusive animals that make our activity a little hard! But we sure gave to our passengers complimentary tickets that they will be able to use within the next two years. Hopefully they'd all have a little bit of better luck!

Report from Eldey: Despite the cold environment as we are starting to feel the first attempts of winter to take over Iceland, we enjoyed a wonderful weather this afternoon in Faxafloi. It was sunny and dry, so our visibility was excellent to spot animals and we did! Once we arrived to one of our main spotting areas, we saw in the distance few splashes and when we got closer we confirmed our best feelings, it was a pod of 6 white-beaked dolphins that were surfacing gently close to us and even underneath our vessel bringing us magical moments. After enjoying these animals, we sailed further out trying to find more species and we went to an area full of fish hoping for the best. Our intuition was proved to be right and we found two minke whales surfacing in different moments really close to our boat. In the way back home, the sailing experience was extraordinary and we were amused from the views of the old harbour.

Report from Eldey: Compering to yesterday, there was no white caps over the sea but swell was quite high and we were bouncing on the waves from time to time. This morning started also a little bit colder then usually, but at least we didn't have wind and sun was shining, with every minute was getting warner. On the water surface there was plenty of resting northern fulmars and northern gannets flying in the sky. Following this big white birds we were able to find minke whale. We spend good time with this animal as it showed us unique behaviour of feeding close to the surface. We saw when whale was speeding up chasing fish, then rolling over and showing us it's white belly. In the same area there was two other minke whales but we were following the most active one. After a while whale very fast move away from us, probably ending meal so we started our way back to the harbour.
