Tour at 09:00

Report from Eldey: In spite of the gale force winds last night the sea state was relatively calm this morning and it was a smooth ride. The wind was a little bit chilly, but I've come to expect nothing else from ICE-land. It took us a while to find something but once we were near the fishing vessels we encountered a pod of 4 white-beaked dolphins. They were amazing, breaching so high in the distance that it looked like they were flying, and the splashes they were creating were massive. When we were closer they stopped breaching but started bow-riding us, which was even better. Once again, imprisoned in my guide cage I couldn't see anything but all of the guests on board today seemed to be having a grand time! What another great day in the land of rainbows!

Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: The weather calmed down quite a low from this morning, it seemed that the leftovers of the storm that we have had last days have finally ceased. That was one of the best omen for our afternoon tour. Once we arrived to one of our main spotting areas, we discovered a pod of 5 white-beaked dolphins swimming gently, we accompanied them for a while amused by their kidness. When we spent time enough with them, we headed our course into another direction trying to find more cetaceans, and the result was amazing! We heard reports from a huge whale around and we got closer to check, finding a big humpback whale. We were astonished not only by its presence but it also because she decided to breach next to our boat, less than 50  m! She displayed more incredible behaviours such as flipper slapping. The curious thing about this encounter was that we were also able to see some dolphins around, a rare interaction between these two species. In the way back we were even more lucky, spotting a minke whale surfacing few times in front of us. It was a wonderful afternoon in Faxafloi.
