Tour at 13.00

Report from Hafsúlan: We sailed out again and was thrilled to see that the sea had calmed down, new to the same area that we saw the Harbour Porpoises in the morning tour, well they were there again and passengers got a great look at they small and cute cetaceans. After another 30-40 minutes sailing we saw a big flock of seabirds and then suddenly, whoosh, a blow and big splash. Minke Whale surfacing high out of the water, wonderfully spotted by the passengers. there was definitely a great spotting team on board. We were able to follow this Minke for a few surfaces seeing mainly the blow and splashes as it traveled fast towards Mt. Esja. There were other Minkes seen later on in the tour too but pretty much teh same, blows and splashes. We did our best and that´s all we can do, ultimately its all down to the wildlife how much they want to be seen. We offered our passengers complimentary tickets in the hope they get to see them in a better mood next time.

Tour at 09:00

Report from Hafsúlan: We sailed out from Reykjavik old harbour in what to be very good weather, however we knew that once out offshore it would get worse. Most of our passengers enjoyed the adventure but there were some green faces at the end. It is alwasy good to make use of the free sea sickness tablets we provide on board and at the office if you are sensitive. Our first cetaceans was a pod of Harbour Porpoises which were leaping out of the water, not often seen in this species. We were hoping to see more offshore but unfornately the whales were playing shy this morning and we had no other encounters. Still, most passengers enjoyed the beautiful scenery and rocky adventure. We offered complimentary tickets in the hope they would return again with better luck.
