Report from Eldey: The weather got even better, no wind created a really smooth sea almost mirror calm. It was incredible, not often do we get a calm sea and especially this time of year so It was even more special. We also had an incredible tour with the sightings, at least 4-5 minke whales, one was a regular, seen every year for the last 10 years called 'Phil' and harbour porpoises which seemed to just be popping up everywhere, we saw probably 40-50 in total scattered throughout the bay. There was so many birds too, birds rarely seen in the summer such as the sooty shearwater and the iceland gulls.

Report from Eldey: The weather was nice, mild wind, no rain and great visibility. There was still some swell since yesterday storm, and we sailed into the swell on our way out on the bay. After more than an hour of sailing we reached an area with rich birdlife. The feeding birds gave us hope for spotting cetaceans as we often find these animals in the same areas. After scanning the area we got news from another boat about a minke whale. Fortunately the minke whale was close to Reykjavik so we managed to spend a good time with the whale. It was often easy to predict the movement of the whale so it was not so challenging to photograph. We decided to spend a bit longer time with the shale even though it meant we would be a late back to harbour, it was definitely worth it.
