Tour at 17:00

Report from Hafsúlan: We decided to head in the same direction as this afternoon, hoping we would still encounter the animals from earlier today. Unfortunately the bay seemed rather abandoned and even searching in a large area, for a long time didn't help. It was still a beautiful evening with clear sky and evening sun and we enjoyed the calm ride. We gave all our passengers complimentary tickets valid for 2 years so they can come on antoher whale watching tour with us for free.

Tour at 13:00

Report from Hafsúlan: The sun was on full volume as we headed offshore, straight back to the area we were this morning and once again we were not disappointed. We were met by a pod of fast surfacing White-beaked Dolphins, must have been at least 10-20 animals coming right towards us. They soon changed their direction and it became clear that they must have been chasing fish as they constantly changed direction and speed. After a while of watching the dolphins we spotted a Minke Whale a few kilometers in the distance, we slowly approached and got a very good look at him or her, again looked to be feeding. Next on the list was a small pod of Harbour Porpoises, maybe 2-3 animals that surfaced 2-3 times and vanished. A very nice afternoon tour.

Tour at 9:00

Report from Hafsúlan: It was the perfect weather for whale watching, sunny and calm sea bringing many unexpected tourists to our door. We decided to take out two boats this morning to give our passengers more room to move around. We had to search for maybe 45 minutes until we spotted a pod of White Beaked Dolphins which were interacting with our boat. Shortly after we spotted a Minke Whale in a distance so we headed in that direction. We saw 3-4 individuals in the same are and in the end of the tour we followed one Minke which was going very fast in one direction. As we saw that he was going to a spot where also a lot of birds gathered we knew he came here to feed. Very nice start of the day.

Report from Elding: Beautiful weather this morning to sail out into Faxaflói Bay, we sailed south towards the Reykjanes Peninsula but then headed further offshore. After about an hour of searching we got word from our other boat Hafsúlan about dolphins so thats were we headed. We unfortunately missed the dolphins but found ourselves in between two seperate Minke Whales that went different directions, we followed one as the other boats followed the other so that we wouldn´t over crowd the animal. We also got a short encounter from Harbour Porpoises but they disappeared as soon as they appeared. It would have been nice to see more, but nature is nature.
