Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: The morning was beautiful but the aftrenoon was even more so. The sun was higher in the sky but still shining a warm winters glow over the snow capped landscape. We have not be having great luck in the usual areas lately so we decided to travel north, closer to Akranes. After about 1 hours of sailing we encountered a pod of 2-3 white- beaked dolphins, they surfaced a few times in front of the boat and then disappeared leaving the passengers at the back of the boat without a sighting. Luckily after another 10 minutes of tavelling another pod of about 5 white-beaked dolphins were spotted by our passengers and these were awesome. we stayed with them for maybe 20- 30 minutes and then left them in peace. The frequently came close to the boat and there was plenty of opportunities to photograph them. Especially beautiful as they all surfaced at the same time with the sun shining in their backs. Within this group was one of our regular sighted individuals called ´All at Once´usually a summer visitor to the bay so it´s nice to see this individual in the winter too. First encountered in 2008.The sail home was cold so everyone headed into the warm saloons and bought themselves a nice hot chocolate, tea or coffee.

Tour at 09:00

Report from Eldey: Setting sail in the darkness, with the snow covered mountains illuminating the way, provided the wintery feel to the tour which was further added to by the breathtakingly cold temperatures. As we journeyed in to the bay, the sun begun to rise from behind turning the sky gold and blue. The ride was smooth as there was little to no wind and spotting conditions were good but we were unable to locate any cetaceans. The tour was therefore unsuccessful and complimentary tickets awarded.
