Tour status: RUNNING

Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: Today was one of those beautiful cold and clear winter days where it was hard to decide if it was better to curl up inside in the warm and have a hot drink or to stand the cold outside facing the strong wind and breathing the fresh Icelandic air (maybe also having a warm drink). The cloudless sky allowed a great view on all surrounding mountains which were still covered in snow from christmas eve. Due to the strong wind from the north east we sailed along the coast and in an area close to Reykjavik where dolphins were spotted in the former days. Unfortunately, we were not rewarded with such sightings today. Thus, complimentary tickets were issued, giving our passengers the opportunity to come with us on another adventurous tour out in Faxafloi with hopefully better sighting success than on this christmas tour.

Bird species seen on today's tour include: common guillemot, cormorant, glaucous gull, iceland gull, greater black-backed gulls.

We are sailing out from the Old Harbour in Reykjavik today. The sea might be rough out on Faxabay but we do offer seasickness tablets free of charge at the ticket office if you are sensitive to motion sickness. All our boats have inside and outside areas and to make the tour even more comfortable we provide warm overalls.

We look forward to welcoming everyone on board and wish everyone a merry christmas!
