Tour status: RUNNING FROM ANTOHER HARBOUR

Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: WHAT A TOUR!! The wind calmed down alot but there were areas were the sweel needed to calm down more as it did cause some uncomfortable tummies on board. The majority were out loving the sunny conditions the crew included. It took us about 20 minutes to start seeing blows, at least 5 individuals but we concentrating on a pair and then later a 2nd pair that were showing their flukes beautifully. After some great encounters we travelled west and hoped to maybe find other species but seems that the area is dominated by humpies. On this tour we must have seen blows from about 15-20 humpback whales. Such an amazing place to be whale watching at the moment.

Tour at 09:00

Report from Eldey: What an amazing morning we have had in our first tour! As soon as we arrived to Grindavik, our departuring port for today, we were able to see dozens of different birds around the harbour but not only birdlife was present, whales were everywhere! It didn't take more than five minutes to find the first blow when we realized that we were surrounded by many humpbacks whales, at least 8-10 of them were seen during the tour. First encounters were scattered blows every now and then but later on we had a couple of humpbacks surfacing very often close to our boat. They were clearly resting and they delighted our eyes with the vision of their incredible and huge bodies. We also had the opportunity to see two humpbacks showing the fluke. Moreover, it was a sunny day, a highly appreciate state of weather in Iceland. What else do you need to enjoy such a fantastic trip?
