Report from Elding: Not long after the Elding started sailing into the sun the first back of a minke whale was in sight. We had good opportunity to witness it surfacing a few times and spent a while looking out for the animal. After we lost it we went mainly alongside hunting arctic terns on to the next minke, which we could only observe for a short while. Further in the south we found ourselves in the middle of a dramatic scenery of northern gannets, falling from the sky like an Icelandic hailstorm. A small pod of white beaked dolphins, some big and some very young ones where jumping, before we sailed home.

Report from Eldey: The perfect weather conditions made this tour a delight from the beginning. It's been a while since we felt we are dressed too warmly under the influence of the tireless afternoon sun. We searched the bay long and wide before we stumbled upon a small pod of white-beaked dolphins which were not in a very good mood that day so we let them be. We were already taking the route back to the harbour when we spotted another pod of around 10 dolphins in the distance. These cetaceans were much more willing to share some of their time with us. They were jumping out of the water, playing in the waves of our bow and swimming very very close next to us and also diving under the boat. They had a couple of juveniles in the group and they were very curious. We could track their bulky bodies through the water surface thanks to the white stripes on their bodies. Beautiful weather, beautiful dolphins, beautiful trip.

Report from Eldey: After a stormy week-end, this morning tour happened in welcomed calm conditions. Even though temperatures were cold, we enjoyed a quiet sea and an endless visibility, we were even able to see the Snaefellsjokull! And we were not short on luck, as not even 20 minutes after departure we spotted a huge pod of 20+ white-beaked dolphins! We could sight a rich diversity of behaviour, including some feeding actions, leaps and bow riding. We stayed with them until our content, then ventured further westward. There we observed a high diversity of sea birds and even caught a glimpse of a minke whale. But the animal didn't seem to be in the mood for providing a show, and promptly disappeared. By the time we were coming back to the harbour we had a nice sunshine in our back. Needless to say, we had a pleasant time out at sea!
