Report from Eldey: What a beautiful tour! The sea was wonderfully flat, the sun was shining and the wind not too strong. It wasn’t long until we found our first cetaceans, some beautiful white-beaked dolphins surfaced in the distance and once closer they surfaced wonderfully, coming up many times. A juvenile even started leaping out of the water on many occasions and the adults began bow-ridding which was just spectacular, the juvenile then began invereted breaching! We enjoyed them for quite sometime before heading off to find something else. We found many minke whales 5-6 in total, surfacing in every direction. One even surfaced 3 meters from the boat, just incredible! What a fantastic way to end the day.

Report from Eldey: Sunshine! Big, flamboyant, heart-warming sunshine for our 13:00 tour, finally! And with that the waves calmed down a little bit as well! All of that made an excellent cruise and glorious view on the surroundings mountains. Such a shame that the humpback whale and the minke whale that we successively spotted didn't play along. We could see them surfacing few times, specially the minke, but they eventually disappeared without a trace. But before returning home, we spotted a pod of about 9 white-beaked dolphins that we could see for a longer time, and 3 of them treated us with tireless jumps out of the water, a rather spectacular sight! On the way home the sky was covered with clouds but the wind had died down, and we had a relaxed time trying to spot puffins before reaching the harbour.

Report from Eldey: It was a nice sunny day as we set sail into faxafloi. The wind was a bit high and there was quite some swell but nothing too bad. After sailing for a while we encountered our first species, 2-3 lovely harbour porpoises popped up delighted us with their slight forms. A minke whale then surfaced right in front of us and came up a few times around the boat. Unfortunately, we then got the news that one of our passengers with a prior existing medical condition needed medical attention, therefore we turned around and offered our passengers complimentary tickets to allow them to come back on another tour anytime in the next two years.

Bird species seen on today's tour include: Atlantic puffin, red-necked phalarope, northern fulmar, black-legged kittiwake, manx shearwater, northern gannet, eider duck, black guillemot, great black-backed gull & razorbill
We are running from the Old Harbour in Reykjavik today. There is some wind coming in from the North West today and there will be movement on the boat out on Faxabay. If you are sensitive to motion sickness we do offer seasickness tablets, free of charge, at the ticket office. Hope you will be able to join us today.
