Tour at 17:00

Report from Hafsúlan: A tour that showed a 100% "patience pays off"!! We were searching for almost 2 hours and the bay seemed abandoned until we spotted a Minke Whale which we unfortunately lost after a few minutes but as we kept on looking we spotted another Minke Whale and another and another, so we had 3 Minkes around us and they started lunge feeding, it was amazing. After a while we saw a pod of jumping White Beaked Dolphins so we decided to take a look at them which turned out to be an excellent idea. They swam with the boat, under it and than they started jumping right next to us so crazy that passengers asked me if I was sure that we haven´t trained them. It was the perfect end of the day!!

Report from Elding: A tour that proves that with a bit of patience you can be rewarded. We saw at least 4-6 Minke Whales on this tour but they were all very difficult and not showing up that much. We did get to see quite a lot of Harbour Porpoises though, 3-4 pods of 3-7 individuals in each. But the Minke Whale, were not that exciting UNTIL... nearing the end of the tour when we suddenly spotted one Minke and it was great, surfaced just 30-40 meters from the boat and many times. At last our passengers could get some worthwhile photographs. Great end to the tour.

Tour at 13:00

Report from Hafsúlan: The wind had calmed down even more when we sailed out this afternoon and the sea was almost flat. We had to search for quite a while before we spotted a Minke Whale right in front of us. It was a very nice, easy going Minke and it came close to the boat to surface. We enjoyed this animal for a while before we had to back to Reykjavík. On the way back we spotted another Minke Whale not as close as the first one but still nice to see in the end of the tour. We even got a glimpse on some Harbour Porpoises on the way back which are usually rather elusive.

Report from Elding: The weather was a bit disappointing this morning as the rain was quite heavy, those that didn´t wear the overalls got quite wet but at least the sea conditions were good and we could spot the wildlife from far away. We saw at least 3-4 Minke Whales, staying most of our time with two individuals. We saw one Puffin which was a really treat now that we are at the end of the season and they are all migrating. Other birds we saw included Fulmars, Gannets, Manx Shearwaters, some Arctic Terns, Eider Ducks. Very nice but wet tour.

Tour at 9:00

Report from Hafsúlan: The sea had calmed down when we sailed out this morning but it was still raining. It took us about 45 minutes before we spotted a Minke Whale in front of us. It was traveling very slowly and we got a few close looks but than it disappeared and we had to search on. We spotted some White Beaked Dolphins later on and they were traveling really fast, we headed in the same direction so everyone could get a good look at them.
