Tour status: RUNNING

Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: A wonderful afternoon with calm seas and incredible landscape. We sailed to our successful spot from the morning tour but all had changed, birds had gone and only the odd scattered feathered creatures flew past, namely iceland gulls. It was only near the start of the tour we saw the only flock of birds for the whole tour but it was nice to see 2-3 harbour porpoises feeding around and under them. Unfortunetly it was far away and could only be viewed with a pair of binocuars. Later we found a lovely pod of 4-6 white-beaked dolphins that were a delight to watch, surfing the waves, that was particulary amazing as they all surfaced at once. A fun evening with the dolphins and each other.

Tour at 9:00

Report from Eldey: The beginning of the tour was a bit gloomy, with a complete overcast and some light rain at times. Some of the passengers saw some harbour porpoises on the way out, these cute but elusive cetaceans. We also spotted  2- 3 white-beaked dolphins, but they were behaving exactly like the porpoises this morning, which is very unlike them. We gave up on the dolphins and continued our search westward, were we encountered a huge flock of birds feeding on the surface. Soon after we were in aw because there was also a fully grown adult minke whale in the area. It was beautiful to see this animal so close to us, even 20 m at times. It was quite the sight. Also the weather improved dramatically, so we had clear skies and a bit of sun to escort us back home.
