Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: Today was the day for sailing. Completely flat seas, not even a light breeze and zero signs of waves in the horizon, everything worked perfectly to have an enjoyable ride out there. We started sailing around the islands in front of Reykjavik trying to find our well-known whale, it seemed that today was its day off as we couldn't find it. Nonetheless, we found a pod of 6-10 harbour porpoises straight away next to the island of Viðey which were swimming graciously among some flocks of razorbill and black guillemots. Once we decided to sailed towards Faxafloi, we weren't disappointed. It wasn't only the amazing landscape and the never-ending sunset but we found a pod of 8-10 white-beaked dolphins. The big surprise for was about to reveal as we witnessed 2 calves among the group, one of them had visible fetal folds in its tiny body (they can last up to 6 months but they are perceptible to the eye within the first 2 weeks). These 2 dolphins were very playful as they were performing a bunch of tricks: leaping, head-slapping, tail-slapping and surfacing very close to their mothers. It was a pleasure to be able to see such an amazing nature-show.
