Report from Eldey: Another stunning day with mirror calm seas and incredible light, with -5 degrees celcius the sea was starting to freeze and all the seabirds were resting on top of the frozen water. We sailed with the sunrise and looked for our friend Viðey the humpback whale and was very pleased to see him/her in the usual location. Viðey seemed to be having a bad day and was not it´s usual self. Viðey looked to be wanting to be left alone and not bothered by whale watching vessels so we didn´t spend as long with it, it was a good opportunity to search the rest of the bay and enjoy the setting sun and the landscape. We didn´t see any more cetaceans unfortunately but it was incredible to be out on the bay nonetheless a day to be appriciated for sureas it so rare to have this very calm weather especially during the winter months. We enjoyed the variety of seabirds and viðey the humpback whale. A fantastic day!
