Report from Eldey: Second day of the New Year was very lucky for us. Wind picked up however it was warm south wind and sea was calm. It was mostly cloudy, still some rays of the sun were playing over landscape giving us amazing views. We have our routine, first safety speech and a while later we are starting to talk about whales and how to find them - but not this time! After 15 minutes at the sea we saw a blow. It was a humpback whale. For a second we thought that it was our Videy whale, known from being close to shore. After seeing a tail we realized that it was a whale which we were watching few days back in Hafnafjordur. Today humpback was giving us difficult time when was going for 6-10min dives and coming back in far points. Luckily, our captain Otto has a great intuition and we had few close encounters with the best moment when whale raised his fluke in  slow-motion right next to our boat.
