Report fom Eldey: Sun was up and cast a warmer feel to teh air but the northerly wind counteracted it and it felt even colded than the last tour. It took us about 1hr 20mins before we came to an area that looked promising, many birds: cormorants, fulmars and a few gannets but it was unsure if they were feeding or just flying around. Passengers onboard had some awesome spotting skills and they spotted a pod of 3 white-beaked dolphins and 1 surface of what sounded like a minke whale. We slowed the boat turned around and checked out the area in the hope of spotting them again but they were gone as fast they they came. We travelled on and another 1hr later in the freezing northernly winds a few dorsal fins were spotted, White-beaked dolphins and these guys were great, playing around the vessel a bit, surfacing just meters away and under the bow. There were 4 or 5 individuals, including mother and a calf. It was a short encounter in the end and even though we tried to follow them it became harder to track them. We gave our passengers complimentary tickets and hopefully more food and thus whales will make their way bay into teh bay.

Report from Eldey: It was a bitterly cold morning with temperatures below freezing, brrrr! It was still very beautiful to be out on the ocean and the sea was lovely and calm with a slight swell. We were enjoying all the birdlife as we sailed west all the while keeping warm with the heated saloons, overalls, and hot chocolate. We photograhed the snow-capped landscape, the colours in the clouds as the sun rose. We were unfortunately unlucky with our cetacean encounters, not even a splash but it was a wonderful sail in Iceland´s winterwonderland nonetheless. We offered our passengers complimentary tickets and hopefully next time we will have more luck.

We are sailing from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík today, there might always be some movement out on the boat and if you are prone to getting seasick, we do have seasickness tablets free of charge.
