✔ TOUR ON SCHEDULE | at 13:00

Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: The bad weather had moved further north this afternoon allowing for a more comfortable journey in our whale watching area's, it was only a bit  rougher as we passed the whalefjord when there was more surface for the wind to build up the waves. It was smooth sailing first to our north, using the mountains for shelter and came across an area with a variety of feeding birds, northern gannets observed plunging into the sea from great heights and also some very cute harbour porpoises, at least 2 pods of 3-5 individuals, the first pod was awesome, surfacing slowly and many times so most if not all passengers could see them. As soon as food was in their sights their manouvers were more erratic and harder to follow.  We continued our search north and found another area with feeding flocks of gannets, seagulls, razorbills and fulmars but was surprised taht no whale or dolphins were in the area as it seemed very productive. Time was running out so we set a course for home and into the strong winds, making for a beautiful scenery with dark seas, white cap wave crests and snow capped mountains. Stunning but cold and blusterly. Few passengers got a glimpse of a seal but only quicky, no other marine mammals were observed on this tour and so we offered our passengers complimentary tickets to come again for another whale watching tour anytime in teh next two years.
