Report from Eldey: AMAZING!!! What a tour. Where do I start.....well firstly lets talk about the weather, sunny, warm and calm seas. Perfect. Then the whales, just after 30 minutes we were seeing our first blows, far far in the distance. Once arriving we found ourselves in an area of at least 4 humpback whales. We didn't know where to turn. We found one without any other whale watching vessels around and stayed with it for about 30 minutes. This humpback was incredible.. Breaching, rolling, surface feeding. Couldn't get enough. We only left once another vessel came. Our sencond humpback was a little trickier to approach and maybe not in the mood to be watched. We took a chance then and headed east to an area dolphins were seen previously. Unfortunatly they could not be found so we headed back to the humpback whales only to fing two together syncrised in their feeding. Surfacing together with theit mouths a gap full of food. We ourselves had our mouths a gap with amazement. Then DOLPHINS!!!!!. White-beaked dolphins joined in on the show, scattered small pods of at least 30 if not more. You could see them in the distance annoying/playing with the humpbacks. Best tour of the season! White-beaked dolphins and at least the blows of 6-8 humpback whales!

Report from Eldey: What a fantastic day to be at sea. After a cloudy start, we were able to spot humpback whales in Faxafloi Bay. It took us only about 40 minutes to get close enough to them and to see them feeding and travelling. One individual was particular small, most likely a juvenile. Another one was coming up super close to the boat, seemingly not bothered by our presence, busy feeding away. And we had a very special appearance, or better reappearance, of Kolbrun. This individual has last been seen in the bay in summer 2018, and is now back to visit. with more blows in the distance, we had over all around 6-10 humpback whales around us. And with that not being enough, the sun finally made an appearance as well, all the way back into port. Let's hope the weather will hold for the next tour as well.

Bird species identified today: eider duck, nothern fulmar, atlantic puffin, common guillemot, black-legged kittiwake, lesser black-backed gull, long-tailed ducks, great cormorants.

There could always be some movement out on the bay, so if you are prone to seasickness, we have seasickness tablets free of charge.
