Report from Elding:  Rather windy conditions were forecasted today, however the morning weather was more promising and we headed out into the northeasterly wind with the sun shining on our sun screened faces. It was a nice comfortable sailing north using the mountains for shelter, the sea´s did get a little choppier at the mouth of the whale fjord though but soon got shelter again once behind the mountain Akrafjall. We saw a nice variety of birds, eider ducks, puffins, guillemots, arctic terns and seagulls. Unfortunately, the whales and dolphins were having a day off and so we offered our passengers complimentary tickets to come again for free, they are valid for two years and can also be used up in Akureyri, North Iceland.

Report from Eldey:  Winds have been very strong these last few days around Reykjavík, blowing from the North East. With the beautiful sunshine, however, it was easy to be fooled and think one would need nothing but a light jacket today. And while we sailed through Kollafjödur, searching around the islands where we have been blessed with numerous humpback whales as well as minke whales in the past months, it did feel wonderfully warm. Sailing past the island Lundey we even were greeted by plenty atlantic puffins flying back and forth from their burrows. As we did not spot any marine mammals in this part of the bay, we decided to continue our search along going along the Snaefellsness peninsula towards Akraness. Out of the protected area, our passengers clearly felt that they are in Iceland, with winds suddenly blowing around us. But everyone braved these conditions and helped the crew in spotting for whales and dolphins. Nontheless, after a 3 hour search around the bay, no whales were seen today. Concluding, everyone was offered a complimentary ticket for a return trip.

Birds seen today include: atlantic puffin, northern fulmar, common guillemot, cormorant, eider duck, common gull.

We are sailing from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík today at 9:00. The wind is very strong today so we are expecting the seas to be quite rough, so if you are prone to seasickness we have some seasickness tablets free of charge at our ticket office. The sun is shining, but make sure to dress warmly and make use of our warm overalls as it is always colder on sea than on land.
