Report from Eldey: The weather was really nice, sun was shining and the sea was calm. The result? An incredible day for a whale watching tour. We headed out to Faxafloi Bay toward our usual spotting area enjoying the view and when we got close, a black-back of a minke whale showed up just in front of us, then we stopped our boat and let our passengers take great pictures of it, but after five minutes we had another individual just behind us! It was difficult to choose where to look at but suddenly one of them popped up really close to the boat, so close that we even saw the white pectoral fin, it was awesome!! We had plenty of time also to look for another individual so we decided to sail to the east, and it was a good decision, because we spotted a two pods of 7 white-beaked dolphins each, they were jumping out of the water and our passengers had the opportunity to get nice footage! Our time was running out so we decided to head back to the harbour, but our tour did not finish yet! Another minke whale showed up in front of us to say goodbye along with the company of a small pod of 4 harbour porpoises. I just can say it was AMAZING! One of the best tours I've ever seen. Can you imagine how excited our passengers were?

Report from Hafsúlan: We had the lovely sunshine and mirrorlike seas when we headed out in search for whales. When we got to the area where the animals are normally at, we found at least 8-9 minke whales near and far! We also encountered a pod of around 4-6 harbour porpoises, and they were very visible because of the perfectly flat sea conditions. And last but not least, we saw a pod of 8-9 white-beaked dolphins, those seemed to be super happy, jumping and splashing and eventually they came up to our boat and started bow riding! Such a wonderful tour!

Report from Eldey: After our last tour, we went out to the bay really optimist because the weather kept calm just a bit cloudy but that it was not a problem for us. When we were almost to the spotting area a huge black back of a minke whale showed up in front of us. We followed for a while, very easy to photograph. Then it was when i had a look behind our boat and we found another minke whale. We salied for a seven minutes between both whales, when they went somewhere else , our captain headed the boat toward the popular mountain esja and we found a big pod of 7 white-beaked dolphins interacting with another boats so when we got close some of them started "bow riding" our boat surfing the waves created by our boat and jumping out of the water. It was an amazing time and we came back to the harbour with big smiles on our faces.

Report from Hafsúlan: The sea was still rather flat during this tour with no white caps on the waves, but it was mostly cloudy. We did not have to go too far out and had our first encounter after about 50 minutes of sailing. A pod of 6-7 white-beaked dolphins was interacting with the other whale watching boats in the area, doing some bow riding. They were also jumping and being easy to follow around. After this lovely beginning of the tour we kept heading a little bit further out, since we heard about some more cetaceans in the area. The whales were testing our patience first, but eventuelly a minke whale surfaced, quite close to the boat. But this was only the first one, soon we had about 6 more minke whales surfacing at various distances around the boat! They were also joined by a pod of 4-5 harbour porpoises swimming close up to our boat, so we had wildlife everywhere for a little while, before starting our smooth journey back to the harbour.

Report from Eldey: The wind picked up a little and chillier than the previous tours. We dressed up warmly with the free overalls and hot chocolate at our on board cafeteria is always nice. We travelled straight out to the area of the previos tours and again was not disappointed. A minke whale popped up far in the from and as we got closer more minke whales were visable. Flocks of birds started to gather and soon minkes and birds were all around us feeding on the pleniful bounty in the area. In the end we must have seen at least 10 minke whales and maybe 10 species of birds, arctic squas, puffins, seagulls, manx shear waters, arctic terns, razorbills and guillemots. A wonderful tour to be out on the water.

Report from Hafsúlan: It was quite cloudy but we still had a chance to see a bit of the sunset, and the water was very calm! We had to look for the animals for quite a while but it was worth the wait, as we found a pod of 8 white-beaked dolphins, 4 mothers with their playful calves! It was so amazing because we were able to see their whole bodies underwater due to the mirrorlike sea, and they were playing around the bow of our boat, giving us an amazing show! We also saw 3 minke whales, one of them came very close! It was a wonderful tour and we enjoyed the good weather and the beautiful sunset on the way back.
