Report from Eldey: A day to really prove yourself as a worthy Icelandic tourist. There was rain all the morning and clouds hanging low in the bay. Equipped with overalls and personal rain gear however we had many passengers braving the conditions outside while others remained comfortable in our indoor areas. It was after a little more than an hour we encountered a pod of 4-5 harbour porpoises chasing for their breakfast. As they were in a show-kind-of-mood, we stayed with them and were pleasantly surprised by a second pod of harbour porpoises soon after the first. Those cute cetaceans quickly swimming were unfortunately the only marine mammal sighting during this tour. If we saw beautiful plunge-dives from northern gannets and if we felt like Vikings facing the Icelandic weather, we could not find any whale. That's why we offered to our passengers complementary tickets, allowing them to come back on a new adventure for free, in the two next years.
