Report from Eldey: In true Icelandic style, the weather completely changed from the previous tour : Now clouds were covering the bay and we were sprinkled with rain. Therefore we of course provided our passangers with overalls to keep everyone warm and dry. The sea was still quite flat for smooth sailing and also allowing us to easily spot harbour porpoises every now and then. Suddendly, out of nowhere, a minke whale popped up very close to us! It was traveling quite fast and after a couple of surfaces went for a deep dive. Unfortunately, we didn't spot it again. We also found 4 white-beaked dolphins along the way. First, it was challenging to keep up with them, but eventually they started bow-riding our boat, how amazing ! One of these dolphins was clearly smaller compared to the other three: a very cute juvenile that we also got to see from very close. To end the tour we enjoyed the city lights of Reykjavik getting brighter as the night started to come in.

Report from Eldey: Sun, sun and even more sun! With blue skye and sun shining over us, we had the most incredible sailing conditions this afternoon with only very little wind and the sea very flat. After about 30 minutes of sailing along the coastline of Reykjanes peninsula, we started seeing tiny dorsal fins popping up from the water: harbour porpoises! And not just one or two but at least 10 individuals! Thanks to the flat sea, we were able to see their tiny bodies very well. As we continued sailing, we got to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Faxafloi bay, with sun glaring on the flat sea. Suddendly, we started to see something dark popping out of the water every once in a while a bit further away and even some splashes... We found a pod of at least 10 white-beaked dolphins. They were all around and very close to the boat. We could easily follow them with our eyes even under the water surface and these dolphins seemed to be very curious about us as well. Towards the end of the tour we got a final surprise with a minke whale surfacing actively many times while feeding. What a beautiful tour it was with so many cetaceans!

Report from Eldey: It was a pleasant morning with little wind, calm seas and the sunshine poking it's rays through the clouds regularily. With that, we had ideal spotting conditions and needed no more than 45 minutes to see diving gannets in the distance, a good sign for there being a lot of fish around they were hunting. Approaching them, we spotted a pod of 6 white-beaked dolphins, including one calf, that began to bow ride on our boat as soon as we got close. They loved playing around us and even followed us as we began to leave them after half an hour. It turned out that this tour was a dolphin dream tour, with another 2 pods following this one, all of them curious and playful. Northern gannets were doing imperssive diving all the time as well and with the sunshine it just made for a great start into the day and the new week.
