 TOUR ON SCHEDULE  | 13:00

Report from Eldey: The weather conditions continued to be favourable and the colours in the bay on this tour were amazing. We had some swell, but we managed to get over it, especially on the way back when the situation calmed down. We saw two separate pods of white-beaked dolphins. The first one had some individuals checking us out and there was a mother and a calf in the small group. But they were not in the mood to interact that much, so we left them alone. The other group was no more fun and we were running out of time, so we had to turn back to the harbour. We gave out complementary tickets to our guests so they can try to have another, more successful tour, seeing that on this one there was a lot of people that only saw a dolphin fin once or twice for a very brief amount of time. Still, a beautiful autumn tour with brilliant lighting all around us.

 TOUR ON SCHEDULE  | 09:00

Report from Eldey: The sea was looking like glass this morning as we were navigating over its smooth waters. The temperature kept remind us we were in Iceland, but other than that, it was a very pleasant ride. Until finally closer to the end of the tour we found a pod of white-beaked dolphins! And gosh… this sighting was definitely worth all the waiting! The animals were on a very cheerful mood, quite relaxed around us, allowing us to stay for a significant period of time. These dolphins definitely made our day once they started jumping few meters away from our vessel!

Birds seen today: common guillemot, icelandic gull, glaucus gull, eider duck.

We are sailing from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík today. There can always be movement on the bay, so if your are prone to sea sickness we have sea sickness tablets available.
