 TOUR ON SCHEDULE  | 13:00

Report from Eldey: The sun was still shining brightly also this afternoon, making it one of those winter days that are just perfect weather. Seas were calm and visibility could not be much better either. As the weather really did not limit our path in any way, we decided to take a more Westerly route than this morning and thus scanning other areas. Already on our way back, we spotted a pod of probably 3 white-beaked dolphins. These 3 were not so much in the mood to show off and sadly only stayed with us for a short time. It seemed like the fish, and thus the food of our whales and dolphins, must have moved beyond the areas we are able to search within our tour and so the dolphins were our only sighting today. Obviously this is not what we want to offer, so all passengers were offered a complientary ticket that enables them to return to us, for free, within the next two years to come.

 TOUR ON SCHEDULE  | 09:00

Report from Eldey: A lovely winter morning with just a weak easterly wind and pure sunshine. Snowcapped mountains were glistening all around us and anyone keen on photography really got what they wanted. We sailed through the middle of the bay and after about 10 nautical miles sailed towards the East and along Snæfellsness. Despite it being a wonderful day and great spotting conditions, our tour remained without sightings and thus everyone was offered complimentary tickets to return again to a successful whale watching tour within the next 2 years.

- Sabrina Voswinkel

Birds seen today: eider duck, great cormorant, black-backed gull, little gull.

We are sailing from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík today. There can always be some movement on the sea, so if your are prone to sea sickness we have sea sickness tablets available. Make sure to dress warmly and make use of our warm overalls as it is always colder on sea than on land. For more information contact us by email elding@elding.is or by phone +354 519 5000.
