 TOUR ON SCHEDULE  | 13:00

Report from Eldey: We sailed out again today with the waves settling down a bit and the clouds still covering the skies, but luckily no rain fell on our heads. We looked and looked; scanned and combed a very wide area, but unfortunately we couldn't find a single cetacean individual. A frustrating day, but that is of course how nature is; unpredictable. For this reason we gave out complementary tickets in the hope our pasingers will come once again with us for free and be able to see the animals.

 TOUR ON SCHEDULE  | 09:00

Report from Eldey: This morning we were greeted by the morning sun glaring through the clouds on the bay and snowy mountains. A chilly wind was blowing, reminding us of the arriving winter. It was good spotting conditions and we were excited for the day's sightings to come. It was not easy to find cetaceans, and after about 1,5 hours of sailing we saw a minke whale and a couple of white-beaked dolphins pop up. However, they were very hard to keep up with and we didn't see them again despite our best spotting efforts. We would like our passengers to see whales and dolphins properly, and for this reason we offered everyone a complimentary ticket to come again on a tour for free within the next two years.

-Viivi Pöyhönen

Birds seen today: Eider duck, great cormorant, common guillemot, kittiwake, black-backed gull, glaucous gull

We are sailing from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík today. There can always be some movement on the sea, so if your are prone to sea sickness we have sea sickness tablets available.
