Report from Eldey: It felt like we were navigating over velvet, as the sea was so smooth. There was nothing but a soft breeze. Overall a very comfortable ride. It took us a while to have our first sighting, but it was totally worth the waiting. We started by observing a minke whale traveling around the area. We stayed with it until the moment where we spotted a pod of around 5 to 6 white-beaked dolphins. They caused quite an impression when they moved around us very close to our vessel, causing our guests to move between different positions alongside the vessel. Later on, when we thought the tour was already over, we found a gigantic pod of around 20 to 30 white-beaked dolphins! Our chins dropped as they resurfaced rapidly alongside our vessel. A perfect finale for a great tour!

Report from Eldey: With the days getting shorter it did look like the night is still strong when we started our tour; the lights were still around and we couldn't see much ahead. All of this changed in half an hour, when the visibility became excellent, also due to the flat sea and no wind. We spotted our first cetaceans; a few harbour porpoises, which turned out to be nothing compared to the 20-25 of them we saw later in one group. We also managed to spot a minke whale. One that was changing direction dramatically and going vast distances after every surfacing sequence. But still we managed to have a couple of great looks at the animal, as close as 40 meters away! We finished the tour by checking out a huge flock of birds that were feeding frantically in the area.
