Report from Eldey: After yesterday's stormy day, we were glad to have less wind and plenty of sunshine as we went out into Faxabay today. As we knew, the ocean always needs longer to calm down after a storm, and thus there were a lot of white-caps and waves, a real ocean ride. However, sailing along Snæfellsness, a beautiful winter wonderland with the snow covering it, we had some shelter. Just around the entrance of Hvalfjöður we saw very active flocks of birds, one of the best indicators for fish in the area. It seemed though that today they were feeding on their own, with no cetaceans in the waters around. Crossing from the beautiful Snæfellsnesss to one of the oldest parts of Iceland, Reykjanes, we all kept our eyes open, ready at all times to spot something in the moment it comes to the surface to breathe. Unfortunately it seems like the whales were simply in other areas today which we could not cover during our three hours trip. An unusual and unlucky circumstance which we do not consider a standard. For this reason, we hope all our passengers will use their chance to come join us on another tour with the complimentary ticket we offered to all of them.

Birds seen today include: eider duck, black-backed gull, glaucus gull, cormorant, common guillemot.
We are sailing from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík today. There could always be some movement out on the bay, so if your are prone to sea sickness we have sea sickness tablets available at our ticket office.
