Report from Eldey: This month is just full of surprises. We had not even been out for 15 minutes when a pod of likely 8 white-beaked dolphins, maybe more. There were adults as well as juveniles and they were keeping a strict pace, probably chasing fish. This is always fun as dolphins tend to jump quite often when they are hunting, which we got to see a lot today. So much fun as they did not mind our presence one bit but simply continued their behaviour. Of ocurse this is due to the fact that they have gotten used to the sound of our boats and recognize them as boats that are trustworthy and that will not bother them. We stayed for about 40 minutes but then decided to continue further out into Faxabay. With only few birds here and there, it seems like most live today was closer to the harbour so we were so happy to have spotted and showed everyone these wonderful dolphins. A species best seen in Iceland on top of that!

Birds seen today: eider duck, cormorant, black-backed gull, black-headed gull, northern gannet, black guillemot
