Report from Eldey: Anyone who joined us today wanting an adventurous ride out at sea certainly got what they asked for. The storms we had been experiencing the last two weeks still left the bay with swell and waves making our boat do some rock 'n' roll. But we like these waves as they actually can make spotting easy when the animals decide to surf the waves or use their momentum to jump with the waves to have some fun. And after a little over an hour sailing, that is what happened! A pod of 4 white-beaked dolphins, amongst them a juvenile. They came to bow-ride for a few minutes and stayed very close around our boat. Eventhough the encounter did not last very long, as the dolphins decided to move on, picking up speed and diving under for a long time, everyone was able to see the animals well. However, we would like to offer our passengers more time with our extrordinary wildlife and thus gave out complimentary tickets so that anyone wishing could return on a sescond trip with us in the coming two years.

Birds seen today: black-backed gull, common guillemot, black-headed gull, common shag, cormorant, eider duck.
We are sailing from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík today. There could be some movement out on the bay today after the bad weather that we have been having for the past days, so if your are prone to sea sickness we have sea sickness tablets available at our ticket office. Make sure to dress warmly and make use of our warm overalls as it is always colder on sea than on land. For more information contact us by email elding@elding.is or by phone +354 519 5000.
