 TOUR ON SCHEDULE | 13:00

Report from Eldey: The afternoon gave us a real Icelandic adventure! It was windy and snowing of and on during the tour at one point we even had snow and sunshine at the same time. We headed out in our search for the whales and dolphins and we know that they don't care about the weather. We had 1 harbour porpoises that came up just in front of our boat, but as most times they are elusive and always on the move and quickly disappeared. The seabirds that we usually have was with us today to, we saw a lot of different gulls, northern fulmar and one northern gannet flying in the wind. On the way back the wind picked up even more we continued our search all the way to Reykjavik. Unfortunately, we could not find any whales or dolphins so we offered all our passengers to come with us again for free within the next two years. Hopefully we will se them again on our next tour and we get a chance to show them our whales and dolphins in Faxafloi bay.

 TOUR ON SCHEDULE | 9:00

Report from Eldey: Icelandic winter is officially back in Faxafloi bay! The morning started onboard our catamaran Hafsùlan, ready for the morning cold breeze that wakes us up. We sailed through the winter swell, which was not bad at all, enjoying the views of a beautiful snowed landscape. We kept our eyes on our goal: to find our beloved whales and dolphins. This journey took us under all kinds of weather conditions, so we were quite happy for the overalls provided for free that kept us dry and warm. On the way we could find small flocks of seagulls, some common guillemots and the northern gannets, which they are coming back for another breeding season. Despite our efforts we couldn't spot any cetaceans and a complementary ticket was issued to everyone willing to try their luck again with Elding!

- Raul Zabala Belenguer

Birds seen today include: common guillemot, eider duck, northern fulmar, northern gannet, black-backed gull, iceland gull, black-headed gull, great cormorant, great nothern diver

We are sailing from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík today. there could always be some movement out on the bay, so if your are prone to sea sickness we have sea sickness tablets available at our ticket office.
