Report from Elding: The weather conditions were great for our purpose. The sea was very calm and we felt almost no wind! Apart from very comfortable our ride turned out to be very successful as well. It took us around an hour to find our first humpback whale! We were able to enjoy its presence for a while as this giant was feeding, really close to us! We even witness the animal lounge feeding while rolling on the side with its mouth wide open to take a big gulp of water packed with fish! Later on we found our second humpback whale. This one turned out to be sleeping, as it was traveling really slowly, coming to the surface to breathe on regular intervals of time. These a amazing creature can never fall completely asleep, as they are conscious breather, meaning they actively choose when they want to take a breath, thus they must be half conscious when resting. Though we were enjoying this sleeping beauty we had to wave goodbye and starting moving back to the harbour to keep on schedule. Another ride to remember with Elding!
