Report from Elding: This afternoon was amazing, the seas were still very calm with little to no wind but a slight under swell causing the boat to rock a little but nothing of course compared to the last days. It was hard to count the whales and dolphins we saw today, maybe 10+ minke whales near and far, at least 20 white-beaked dolphins in 3 different pods, a humpback whale that was being a bit of a grumpie humpie only showing the fluke (tail) once and only surfacing once before diving for a long time. 1-2 harbour porpoises also graced us with their presence, 1-2 surfaces and then gone, always shy and more elusive than the other species. It was hard at times to know where to look whales popping up everywhere. It was probably the humpback that was the coolest whale to see as it surfaces just meters from us with a big powerful blow that made a few of the passengers jump. With the whales, dolphins, birds and weather it was a great day to be out on Faxa Bay. On the way home we let passengers just enjoy the wildlife as it surfaced everywhere around us as we cruised to port.

✔ TOUR ON SCHEDULE | 09:00

Report from Elding: We were lucky this morning to have much less swell than yesterday, as well as very little wind which together with surprise appearances from the sun made this a very pleasant sail. Same as the past days it took us more than an hour to get to a very good whale watching area, but when we finally did arrive we were greeted with a pair of synchronized minke whales. This species is seldom seen in such associations, so this made this tour all the more unique. More and more minkes started to turn up to the area, we must have seen at least 7-8 in total throughout the tour. After a while we left the area to check out other spots in the hope of seeing other species and we did, we spotted a pod of 4 white-beaked dolphins that were busy with their travels. As we turned back to Reykjavik we managed to encounter one more minke whale as a bonus before warming up in the salon with a cup oh hot chocolate. Another calm day of enjoying wildlife in the bay.
