Report from Elding: We headed out this afternoon with pretty good conditions, Southerly winds of about 5-7m/s and less than half meter swells. The only difficult part of the weather was the rain, it poured it down the whole tour, everything was soaked BUT we had an amazing tour, best tour in weeks. We got to see about 6 white-beaked dolphins close and relaxed, perfect for photography then after another 30mins sailing we found an area of at least 3 minke whales again slowly surfacing and ok to picture but they stayed a little further away but close enough to enjoy. They all suddenly disappeared however so we continued and after 5 mins more sailing and found another 2 minke whales and a HUGE blow, a humpback whale!!! and it was MASSIVE biggest humpback we’ve seen in months. It was doing 5-7min dives but we were patient and got to see it doing its thing on the surface many ties but 3 surface sequences as they usually surface 3-5 times in each sequence. It was a fantastic tour and well deserved to those soaking wet passengers.

Birds seen on today’s tours include: atlantic puffins, manx shearwater, common guillemot and chicks, arctic skua, great skua, northern gannet, storm petrels, kittiwake, black-backed gull, northern fulmar, eider duck.
We are sailing from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík today for the tour 13:00. There could be some movement out on the bay today, so if your are prone to sea sickness we have sea sickness tablets available at our ticket office. At this time we have to ask that all our guests and staff ensure their own hygiene and safety at all times. Washing hands thoroughly with soap and using a hand sanitiser on a regular basis is advised, as well as wearing a face mask when keeping a 2 metre distance from others is not possible. Masks are available for purchase in our ticket office and hand sanitiser stations are located in high traffic areas.
