✔ TOUR ON SCHEDULE |  13:00

Report from Elding: It was still grey, rainy and cold afternoon with very little visibility but even though the conditions were not the best we had one of the best whale watching tours EVER! We got to see about 3 minke whales and 3 humpback whales. Two of the humpback whales were traveling together then suddenly they breached (more than 60% of their body came out of the water) at the same time and separated, its like they had a big fight and then just went their own ways. We staying with one of the individuals and it breached another 20-30 times (lost count) and slapped its flippers on the surface and then rolled, then brought up its beautiful fluke as it went down on a deep dive. We left then and headed home. WHAT A TOUR!!!

✔ TOUR ON SCHEDULE |  9:00

Report from Elding II: A rainy and gray morning, but calm seas and basically no wind still made it a pleasant sail out into Faxaflói. The visibility was tricky, with many small waves and white caps, but out trained eyes and experience soon let us find what made this a phenomenal tour!!! Two humpback whales socialising with one another, rubbing against each other, dancing around in the water, lifting their fluke and pectoral fins elegantly out of the water and even spy hopping! Together with them was a pod of 4 white-beaked dolphins and a minimum of 10 harbour porpoises. We could not take our eyes off of this nature show but had to leave the whales after an hour to abide by the code of conduct. But we did not leave it at that - as we sailed, we wncountered a total of 4 minke whales and another pod of 7 whiet-beaked dolphins, amongst the pod one very young calf that still had feutal folds. Pairing whales and dolphins with Puffins and puffin chicks made to be an absolutely unforgettable morning tour where everyone forgot about the rain.
