 CLASSIC TOUR CANCELLED |  20:30

✔ CLASSIC TOUR ON SCHEDULE |  13:00

Report from Elding: We had a sunny tour until big clouds begun to cover the sky in the end. The sea condition was good as well as the visibility so we could have a nice view on the landscape. We start going toward Akranes until we found many birds feeding in the same area. We slowed down thinking that maybe marine mammals would be around. We were right, a pod of 5-6 white beaked dolphins surfaced a few times in the area. But the animals were elusive, not letting us approach, so we decided to continue the tour further out. After a while we saw a blow far away. We tried to find the whale that unfortunately never appeared. The wind picked up a lot and we used the shelter of Akrafjall to protect us. We offered our passengers a complimentary ticket that allow them to come back for free in the next two years for a new whale watching adventure, in Reykjavik or in Akureyri.

 PREMIUM TOUR CANCELLED |  10:00

✔ CLASSIC TOUR ON SCHEDULE |  09:00

Report from Elding: We had northeasterlies this morning of about 7-10m/s winds. We had a nice smooth ride with a little more turbulence as we passed Hvalfjörður. We travelled straight to the area where a humpback was seen the day before and searched the area thoroughly. It looked very promising as there were birds everywhere, mainly arctic terns that were skimming the surface for tiny crustaceans (zooplankton), a food that humpback whales are also fond of eating. The guide spotted a blow far in the distance through her binoculars but it was only seen once and never again. We searched and searched but unfortunately we had no luck with any of the cetaceans today. There was just a few passengers onboard this morning which invoked more of  closer 1 to 1 discussions which was nice. We offered everyone a complimentary ticket to join us again in the future, either here in Reykjavik or in Akureyri.
