Report from Hafsúlan: We sailed out today from Hafnafjörður to make the tour a bit smoother sailing and ended the tour in Reykjavík. The rain pretty much fell on us throughout the tour but that was ok because we all used the free overalls onboard to keep us nice and dry and warm. We sailed a long time along the reykjanes peninsula seeing seabirds fly past but not much else. We then sailed towards the area were we saw the minke whales yesterday crossing our fingers they were still there. We were so happy that at least one of them was. A big Minke Whale that surfaced many times just meters from our boat. It came quite high out of the water a couple of times too so that you could see the ventral pleates and white patches on the pectoral fins (flippers). Fantastic minke whale, Thank You Mr/Mrs Minke. Seabirds seen on this tour included, Eider Ducks, Shags, Razorbills, Gannets, Fulmars, Kittiwakes and a couple of species of seagull.
