Tour at 13:00

Report from Hafsúlan: We sailed out from Hafnafjörður on this tour to get a bit more shelter from the land and hopefully find and area that is a bit more productive than the area we covered on the morning tour. It took us quite a while before we saw anything but when we did it was great, everything happened one thing after anothe. We saw three pods of White-beaked Dolphins (first pod with about 5-7 individuals, 2nd pod also about 5-7 and the last pod we only saw one but no doubt others were with it. They were so much fun surfacing around and under the boat. You could even see their eyes as they surfaced in the swell. Beautiful to watch. If this wasn´t enough we even saw two Minke Whales one about 100 meters away and the other 10 meters from the boat, we were hoping to see the closest again but the one furthest away surfaced more frequently. Great cetceans on this tour but not the nicest of weathers.

Tour at 09:00

Report from Hafsúlan: The weather looked ok to head out in but we still prepared our passengers for bit of a bumpy ride. So much fun if you like the rougher seas like me (the guide) but some got a bit green which was very unfortunate. It would of been all worth it if we saw some cetaceans (whales, dolphins, porpoises) but none wanted to be seen on this tour. We did catch a glimpse of a harbour porpoise but only a coulpe of times before it vanished into the deep blue. Complimentary tickets were given and hopefully they can return in nicer weather with more cetaceans.
