All premium tours have been cancelled due to strong winds. Classic whale watching is cancelled at 09:00, 10:00, 13:00 and 14:00 and the tour at 19:00 is still pending.
In the event of unfavourable weather or unstable sea conditions, we sometimes have to cancel our tours for safety reasons. But that doesn't mean you can't make the most of your day in the city! There are numerous things to do in Reykjavík on a rainy day and many of our partners even offer tours that are less weather dependent than ours.
What is the right season to see whales?
Whales and dolphins tend to stay in the vicinity of Iceland year round, so there really is no 'right season'. Summer season is when the wildlife is most abundant but each year the availability of food in our waters change and with that so does the number of whales.
