NORTHERN LIGHTS CRUISE | 21:00
Report from Eldey: Tonight the aurora activity was forecasted to be a 2 on the Kp index, which is already more than enough for Iceland! We also had clouds above us, but we spotted a good nice gap towards Akranes. Not long after we started, we saw a different stain in the sky that didn't look like a cloud. We continued looking at that direction, towards Akrafjall mountain. Now we could see a green line above it! These were definitely Northern lights, and we went closer to the gap with our boat to see it better. They were there, but never got stronger. We needed to start heading back to Reykjavik and they started to disappear. So we decided to gave out complimentary tickets so people can enjoy the lights again, stronger and better next time!

Few natural phenomena are as mesmerising as the aurora borealis. These shifting curtains of colour sweep across the polar skies, painting them in hues of green, pink, and violet. While their appearance may seem unpredictable, scientists have developed ways to understand when and where they might occur and by studying the activity levels, we can estimate the likelihood of seeing them.
