NORTHERN LIGHTS CRUISE | 21:00
Report from Eldey: With clear skies and many stars shining above, we set sail excited to see if the northern lights would shine for us this evening. We admired the city skyline as we sailed away into the night. With a kp index of 2, we were hopeful that the auroras would bless us with their appearance. We learned why the auroras form and what we need in order for them to appear. We admired Esja, alight with a beautiful moonlight and waited. We listen to some myths, hoping to coax the auroras out for us. Although we had a beautiful cruise with light wind, clear skies and even some shooting stars, unfortunately, the northern lights never showed up for us. We handed out complimentary tickets, so that everyone could return and try to see the auroras with us another time.

Few natural phenomena are as mesmerising as the aurora borealis. These shifting curtains of colour sweep across the polar skies, painting them in hues of green, pink, and violet. While their appearance may seem unpredictable, scientists have developed ways to understand when and where they might occur and by studying the activity levels, we can estimate the likelihood of seeing them.
