CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00

Report from Eldey: The weather conditions in the bay were quite good today with moderate waves and wind while sunshine and rain were taking turns. Our tour took us deep into the bay in search of whales. Our patience was however rewarded with no less than 3 humpback whales! They were all feeding in the same area so we could look all around and enjoy the show. They were all going on short dives, often showing of their mighty flukes leaving us all in awe. This was a perfect start of our day and s we sailed happily back into port.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

Report from Eldey: This afternoon we sailed into Faxaflói bay searching for some wildlife! The weather was a bit instable with sunny periods followed by small bursts of rain, but the wind had calmed down and there was just a bit of swell. We sailed for about half an hour before we had our first sighting, a minke whale! This whale was a bit shy so we continued our search. About 20 minutes later we started seeing some blows in the distance! Humpback whales! We managed to see them quite close counting 4 individuals around the same area. They were probably feeding as they were a lot of birds. As time was running out we decided to start our way back to Reykjavik, but out of nowhere one of the humpbacks decided to breach! Amazing! What a great day at sea!
