CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 09:00
Report from Eldey: Today´s morning tour was an unexpected and very unique one. We left the harbour facing some wind and small waves. Nothing too bad, but also not the ideal condition for searching for whales. However, our sighting could not have been better. Soon, we spotted some large, pointy and black fins sticking out of the ocean. As we approached them, we saw that the fins belonged to a pod of five killer whales. These included 3 adult females, a calf and an adult male. We kept a respectful distance, as we saw the whales feeding and socialising. After having an amazing time with this killer whale pod, we returned back to Reykjavík, happy to have sighted one of our rarest species in Faxaflói.

CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 13:00
Report from Eldey: We went out in overcast conditions with wind from the south-east. Our plan to search for whales in the more southern area of Faxafloí turned out to be perfect as we spotted a huge dorsal fin in the distance. Orcas! It was a pod of 5 Orcas swimming together. A massive male, 3 females and a smaller young one. We were able to get close to them and they stayed with us for some time and we were able to take a lot of great pictures of these amazing animals. After leaving them we found a quick traveling pod of around 5 harbour porpoise and a single humpback whale a few kilometers to the north. After some time with the humpback we returned back to Reykjavik with awesome memories made on this tour.
