Report from Eldey: Report from Eldey: With the sun shining through the clouds, we set sail out into the bay.  Right as we were leaving the harbor area we spotted 3 harbor porpoises. These individuals were very quick and so we continued to sail as we watched them surface on the go. It was not too long until we spotted the blow of one humpback whale! This individual was very relaxed and gave us a nice surface sequence before showing off their fluke! When they surfaced again we could really admire the size of this individual as they swam in front of us and then showed off their fluke again! After a wonderful encounter it was time to continue and see who else we could spot this morning. It was not too long before we spotted some splashes ahead and went to see who was around. We stumbled across a scattered pod of about 8 white-beaked dolphins. This pod had some very excited calves that were jumping out of the water right next to us! It was amazing to see their little bodies fly out of the water. Part of this pod also swam around and gave us a bit of a boat inspection, before they started jumped right next to us! This playful pod gave us an amazing show before swimming off and so we continued as well. We then came across a second solitary humpback whale! This individual spy-hopped and we could see their face come out of the water! We then saw their beautiful fluke and with that it was time to set our sights for port. On our way back we spotted 1 minke whale and 5 more harbor porpoises feeding! With 8 porpoises, two humpbacks, 1 minke whale, and a pod of 8 very playful dolphins, we sailed back with smiles all around. What a fantastic way to start the day!
