CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

Report from Elday: Our tour started with sunny skies and the western waves had faded away. Our luck didn´t stopped there. At the very begging of our tour we came across a pod of fore harbour porpoises that where passing between Engay and Akurey islands. They filled us with exactment for the day ahead. We continued cruising towards the open water until one humpback whale surfaced really close to the boat. It was a big surprise both is size and in excitement. We enjoyed its presents and stayed with it for quite some time us it was fluke diving often. We spotted a blow in the distance and we went to investigate. It was not one but tow humpback whales. They were really slow and calm about our existence and we enjoyed them for long up at the surface both of them together meters away from our boat. We had to leave these individuals because note more than a mile away it was a humpback whale that was slapping its tail for long time and it even breached ones. It was an incredible show and when we went closer we realized that a pod of six white beaked dolphins not fur away. From this six individuals the tow of them were calves. It was amazing seeing them together and comparing there big difference on there size. On our way back we found a minke whale that was the last splashes of citations that was missing  for all the common visitors we expect to find in Faxafloy bay. We came back to port with big smiles and incredible memories.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00

Report from Eldey: We set out this morning with windy and rocky conditions, it was cloudy with sputters of rain but eventually the sun came out and we sailed home to a wonderful sunny harbour. We found a humpback whale about 20 minutes into the tour. This individual was probably busy feeding as dive times where very long and was often changing directions. We stayed for quite some time, making sure everyone got a good view. Eventually time was up and we had to return. On our way back some people spotted a minke whale, and most people spotted the countless harbour porpoises that came up rather close to our boat. Another successful tour!

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 17:00

Report from Eldey: The seas had calmed much more for the last tour of the day, mostly cloudy and some wind. We set out to go far out into the bay, on the way some people spotted a minke whale but we kept going, as they are usually very elusive. We eventually reached the spot we were setting out for and started seeing blows in the distance. As soon as most of our passengers spotted the blows in the distance one whale breached off in the distance. We got closer and saw these were three humpback whales side by side, diving and surfacing together. An incredible and mesmerizing sight that left everyone speechless, especially when they started blowing bubbles next to the boat and surfaced right next to us. We eventually had to leave these individuals, very grateful of having witnessed their greatness.
