✔ CLASSIC TOUR ON SCHEDULE |  13:00

Report from Elding: Happy Birthday Elding!! It wasn´t just Eldings birthday, however, but it was also one of our passengers' birthdays too. Hurrah! It was so nice to be back out on the water again after being land bound for 8 months with the contant troubling COVID news and restrictions. However, today we could breath in some fresh Icelandic sea air, have the sea breeze on our face and see some whales. 5 Minke whales to be exact and a very nice diversity of birdlife too. The minke whales were a little difficult to follow and very scattered making it challenging to know which one was best to try and approach. We got a few nice and close encounters and a couple of good photographs also. We were also able to see that there seemed to be plentiful food for them in the area, observed from our fishfinder and also the plunge diving gannets, which was also impressive to see. All in all a very nice first day at sea.

Birds ID'd today: Northern Gannet, Atlantic Puffin, Common Guillemot, Arctic tern, Arctic skua, Northern Fulmar, Kittiwake.

FINALLY the day has come where we are able to sail for the first time in 8 months! Today also happens to be Elding's 21st anniversary, and to celebrate, today's tour will be operated on the beautiful boat that started it all, Elding. Make sure to dress appropriately for the tour as it is always colder on sea than on land. Join us by booking online or contact us directly for more information (elding@elding.is / +354 519 5000).

We of course ask that all our guests and staff ensure their own hygiene and safety at all times. Washing hands thoroughly with soap and using a hand sanitiser on a regular basis is advised, as well as wearing a face mask when keeping a 2 metre distance from others is not possible. Masks are available for purchase in our ticket office and hand sanitiser stations are located in high traffic areas.
