Rannveig Grétarsdóttir co-founded Elding Adventure at Sea with her family in 2000, combining their shared passion for wildlife, boats, and people. Over the years, she has overseen and taken on a variety of roles within the company while serving as the CEO. She is also Chair of the Board and owner of Akureyri Whale Watching and a board member and owner of Whale Safari in Reykjavík.
Rannveig holds a diploma in management and leadership in tourism, a diploma in digital marketing, and an MBA in human resource management from Reykjavík University, as well as a qualification in business administration from the Technical College of Iceland.
She is a leading figure in Iceland’s tourism sector, actively involved in organisations such as the Icelandic Whale Watching Association (IceWhale), the Icelandic Travel Industry Association (SAF), the Icelandic Industry Association (SI), the Icelandic Tourism Cluster (TCI), and Visit Reykjavík.
In 2012, she was acknowledged by the Icelandic Association of Women Entrepreneurs (FKA) for her contributions to the tourism industry.
