CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00
Report from Hafsulan: Our morning started with some drizzle and small swell in the bay as we sailed out searching for wildlife. We sailed for over an hour but finally we had our first sighting! Two white beaked dolphins decided to show up and swam around our boat so that we could have a good look at them. We carried on with our trip and soon, almost on the way back to Reykjavik, we found 2 humpback whales resurfacing gently close to our boat! We could have a We could see them very well and stayed for a bit. Eventually, as we took a while to find them, it was time to head back home as we started our sail back to the harbour.

Report from Hafsulan: Our afternoon couldn't have started better! Right after we left the harbour, we spotted a dark back on the surface, a minke whale that was very curious! It was coming close and sticking around our boat, and as the water was quite calm, we could even see the white patches on each pectoral fin before it would resurface. At the same time we spotted a blow, now closer to the island of Akurey, to discover not only one, but 2 humpback whales! They were very calm, also coming very close to our boat, allowing us to check the marks on each back and dorsal fin - that how close they were! With this amazing start, we then continued our way around the other islands next to Reykjavik, finding a cute harbour seal and at the same area... another minke! We stayed with it for a while, enjoying the fact we were the only ones in the area. We then came back to the humpbacks that we saw before. There was only one now, swimming calmly, sometimes going for a deeper dive (although we were in a very shallow area!) and coming back about 3 min after. Great sightings, great tour!
