- NORTHERN LIGHTS CRUISE | 22:00
We left the harbour with a few clouds in the sky but plenty of gaps, hopeful for the evening. The late sun set and we started our hunt, with the first northern lights already visible through the clouds! After a few minutes, they left again but on our way back to the harbour, a long green arch appeared and we had another good look at them. A great evening at sea!
In the morning, we had some strong wind and swell, so decided to cancel our tour for the safety and comfort of our passengers. In the afternoon, the wind has subsided a little, and we headed out to see what we could find. After some sailing, we spotted our first blow! In total, we had around 8 humpback whales feeding all around us, an excellent sighting and what an afternoon at sea!

We had beautiful weather and clear skies as we headed out to sea. There was a little wind, but otherwise great conditions and we spotted 10 harbour porpoises briefly, but they were quite shy. In the end, we offered to our passengers complimentary tickets to try again on another tour! In the afternoon, we had similarly good weather with a little wind, and again spotted 5 harbour porpoises in a brief sighting, but couldn't find anything larger so gave our passengers complimentary tickets to try again!
A sunny morning, with some swell, and we headed out full of hope for the day! We soon found 2 pods of 3-4 harbour porpoises and got a good look at them, before spotting 2 humpback whales and 1 minke whale further out in the bay - a great morning at sea. In the afternoon, we headed out again with some swell, and soon spotted 2 harbour porpoises and a minke whale. Then, we spotted, a humpback whale! It showed it‘s fluke a few times, a perfect day at sea!

We headed out on a lovely evening and already spotted the northern lights visible above us! A great start to the tour. They became more intense and swirled and veiled with 2 arches above us. A brilliant and beautiful evening at sea.
We set out on a morning tour, with typical Icelandic spring weather - a bit of everything! We soon spotted a minke whale who was very active, surfacing many times. Soon after, 4 white-beaked dolphins appeared, surfing with the swell, and on the way back to the harbour, 3 harbour porpoises were also briefly sighted! In the afternoon, we had similar weather as the morning and soon spotted a minke whale again, very active as before. We stayed for a little while as it surfaced, and then briefly spotted a harbour porpoise again. A great day at sea.

We set out tonight with some clouds but some gaps forecast so warmed up with hot chocolate and blankets and waited patiently. We started to see some stars in the sky, but unfortunately this time, we didn‘t manage to see any aurora, so we gave our passengers complimentary tickets to try again another evening.
With good weather and a little wind, we headed out deep into the bay this morning in search of whales. We soon found 3 humpback whales feeding in the same area, and spent a good amount of time with them. In the afternoon, we headed out again and soon spotted a shy minke whale before continuing our search and finding 4 humpback whales likely feeding with many birds around. A great day in Faxaflói bay!

We left the harbour with some snow and a little breeze, but soon after the visibility cleared up and some nice gaps in the clouds appeared. We could see the stars shimmering through these gaps, and hoped for something more, but unfortunately the aurora decided not to appear tonight so we gave our guests complimentary tickets to try their luck another evening!
