Today we will be operating on our lovely vessel Eldey for the 9:00 and 13:00 Whale Watching tour. Make sure to dress appropriately for the tours as it is always colder on sea than on land.

COVID-19: Keep in mind that passengers and crew are asked to ensure their own hygiene and safety at all times. Washing hands thoroughly with soap and using a hand sanitiser is advised. 

Report from Eldey: This morning we left the harbour against some rough conditions, the wind was quite strong but we were eager to see some marine life. We sailed in the direction of Akranes with some sea birds around us. We saw a lot of birds in that area and we stayed for a while trying to find something in the water. There was a lot of bird activity unfortunately nothing showed up and we had to return, giving complementary tickets to the passengers for them to have another chance to return to see these beautiful animals.

Report to Eldey: We sailed out today with the same eagerness from the morning. The swell has calmed down a little but there was still a strong wind from the north. We grabbed our cosy overalls to protect us from the cold and headed off. There was a lot of sea birds out however still no cetaceans. After an hour and a half of sailing we finally found some white beaked dolphins. It was a small pod of three dolphins surfing the waves and enjoying the chop. They were quite fast moving so we were not able to have a good look and therefore handed out complimentary tickets, so that everyone can return and see the animals in their full glory.
