Today we will be operating on our lovely vessel Eldey for the 9:00 and 13:00 Classic Whale Watching tour. Make sure to dress according to weather, as it is usually colder at sea than on land.

Report from Eldey: This morning was absolutely incredible! We set sail with the sunrise, with no wind and no swell. The ocean was super calm and shortly after leaving we saw three blows - all of humpback whales. There was one at our one o clock and two at our twelve directly infront of us. We slowed down and gently approached when all of a sudden one tail slapped, and the other breached immediatly after! The breaching one breached once more and the other started pec-slapping. It was swimming extremely close to our boat, it felt like we could almost touch it. Then it stopped pec slapping and started breaching as well! It was really active swimming, pec slapping, tail slapping and breaching!!! Eventually it calmed down and as we were with it for a bit we decided to head on and found the third humpback whale. This one was busy feeding, often rolling and coming up super close to us as well. Towards the end the other active one from the morning made its way over to us again as well and we once again had two humpback whales around us. We stayed for a while just watching the whales feed around us and eventually went back to harbour when the time was up. It was an amazing way to start the day.

Report from Eldey and Hafsulan: What a great today! Lately we have been blessed with sun and whales! After just 10 minutes sailing we met a beautiful humpback whale! This one came so close to the boat that got us jaw-dropped! It even passed underneath us. I believe we were very close to a lot of fish, because this whale kept coming very close several times. We spent some time with it and then kept sailing looking for other individuals. After spotting another humpback, Pongo, a spotted-back whale that was logging at the surface! We then encountered a very fast harbour porpoise. We then went to the same area we saw the first whale and it had some company! There was another humpback whale with it, having a feast. They sometimes were very close to each other feeding together and we saw amazing lunge feedings. We saw a total of 3 humpback whales today!
